✈️ Welcome to Knoxville, Southwest Airlines!
Big news for Knoxville travelers — Southwest Airlines is officially coming to McGhee Tyson Airport! After years of requests from local flyers, Southwest will launch service on March 5, making it even easier (and more affordable) to get where you want to go.
Here’s what’s coming:
-
Twice-daily flights between Knoxville and Nashville
-
Daily roundtrip flights to Baltimore, MD, Dallas, TX, and Orlando, FL
Southwest is known for competitive fares, flexible policies, and a huge list of destinations across the U.S. They join Allegiant, American, Avelo, Delta, Frontier, and United — making them the seventh carrier at McGhee Tyson.
This announcement comes during a major period of growth for our airport. Over the past year, we’ve seen new direct flights added to Gulf Shores, AL, Key West, FL, and Memphis, TN through Allegiant. Avelo Airlines also entered the market last year, helping make McGhee Tyson the fastest-growing major U.S. airport in 2024.
