The Best Patios in Knoxville to Soak Up the Summer Sun
By Karli Pritchard, Knoxville Realtor

Summer in East Tennessee means long sunny days, hot weather, and the perfect excuse to grab a cold drink on a breezy patio. Whether you're new to Knoxville or just looking for your next go-to hangout, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite patios around town where the vibes (and views) are just right.

☀️ Calhoun’s on the River

📍 400 Neyland Drive, Knoxville, TN 37902
📞 (865) 673-3355
If you want a classic Knoxville experience, Calhoun’s on the River is a must. With unbeatable views of the Tennessee River and Neyland Stadium, this spot is always buzzing—especially on game days. The patio stretches right along the water, making it perfect for sunset dinners or drinks with out-of-town guests.

🌇 Five Thirty Lounge

📍 530 South Gay Street, Knoxville, TN 37902
📞 (865) 544-9977
For a more elevated (literally!) experience, head to the rooftop at Five Thirty Lounge in downtown Knoxville. Located atop the Hyatt Place, this sleek and stylish lounge offers panoramic views of the city skyline with creative cocktails and small plates. It’s one of my favorite spots for a date night or happy hour with friends.

🧡 Sunspot

📍 2200 Cumberland Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37916
📞 (865) 637-4663
Tucked into “The Strip” near UT campus, Sunspot has a laid-back, artsy vibe and a shaded rooftop patio. Their eclectic menu—think everything from tacos to tofu—is great for groups, and the margaritas are always on point. Pro tip: grab brunch here on a Sunday and then stroll through campus.

🍻 Balter Beer Works

📍 100 Broadway SW, Knoxville, TN 37902
📞 (865) 999-5015
This converted old service station turned craft brewery is a local favorite. Balter’s dog-friendly patio is casual, fun, and walkable from downtown. I love stopping here after a showing or open house—it’s the perfect mix of chill and lively, especially when they’ve got live music.

🎯 Yee‑Haw Brewing Co.

📍 745 North Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917
📞 (865) 210-8862
Just north of downtown, Yee‑Haw offers a large outdoor space with picnic tables, fire pits, and often a food truck lineup. It’s a great place to meet friends on a summer evening or bring your pup along for a casual hang.

👨‍👩‍👧 Corner 16 – Northshore

📍 9637 Kroger Park Drive, Knoxville, TN 37922
📞 (865) 507-3309
If you’re looking for a place where the whole family can relax, Corner 16 off Northshore is the winner. Their massive patio has yard games for the kids, lots of shaded tables, and an easy menu full of Southern comfort food. It’s relaxed and always buzzing with locals.

🌅 Lakeside Tavern

📍 10911 Concord Park Drive, Knoxville, TN 37922
📞 (865) 671-2980
Craving lake views? Lakeside Tavern offers one of the most scenic dining spots in Knoxville. Their multi‑level patio overlooks Fort Loudoun Lake, and it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long summer day. Whether you're dining or just grabbing a drink, it feels like a mini‑vacation.

🌴 Calhoun’s Lenoir City (Tiki Bar + Live Music)

📍 4550 City Park Drive, Lenoir City, TN 37772
📞 (865) 988-9838
This lakeside tiki bar at Calhoun’s Lenoir City combines island‑inspired vibes with live music on select nights. The covered deck overlooks Fort Loudoun Lake and the marina, creating a tropical escape…with Southern hospitality. Live bands regularly take the stage around 7:30 PM—just check their calendar for current acts.

🥗 Any Aubrey’s Location

There’s a reason Aubrey’s is a Knoxville staple—and most of their locations offer spacious patios with shade and charm. Whether you’re in Powell, Cedar Bluff, or Lenoir City, you’re never far from one. It’s casual, consistent, and always hits the spot.

Final Thoughts
Knoxville’s patio scene is thriving, and these are just a few of the places I personally love—whether I’m meeting with clients, relaxing with Carter, or just grabbing a quick bite between appointments. If you are relocating to Knoxville and want to learn more about the local lifestyle, reach out anytime. I’m always happy to share my favorite spots and help you find the perfect place to call home.
